Pawfect theme recommendations

Pawfect is specifically designed to help dog trainers, pet experts, and businesses showcase their services, showcase transformations, passion for dogs with style, clarity, and heart.

We’ve invested years in refining our recommendations. We never recommend anything we haven’t personally used and trusted to deliver exceptional performance. These tools are the secret ingredient to building an awesome website. We use them too, so we know first-hand how amazing they are!

These recommendations are based on the Pawfect theme that we believe you will need. We suggest all plugins be uploaded first before installing Pawfect. All free versions of our recommendations can easily be located in your WordPress repository.

Need more? We have a huge database of qualifying plugins and other resources to help you get started. Check out more of our recommended resources.

Not A Plugin But It’s Important! The hosting company you choose is an important consideration, we highly recommend ScalaHosting for their 5-star rating, unparalleled performance, and excellent support.

Required plugins:

  • Kadence Blocks – blocks for page builder features (free)
  • Kadence AI Starter Templates – installs our child theme and offers some great tools (free)
  • Kadence Theme: The free version is needed for the Cherish theme to be installed. It can easily be located in your WordPress repository.

Optional plugins:

  • Kadence Pro –  pro theme and pro blocks add-on for the Kadence Theme.
  • Redirect URL to Post (free) – the Surprise Me plugin is a gem and is demonstrated in the theme.
  • Events Calendar plugin is an ideal accompaniment for dog training; all work with Kadence.
  • WooCommerce or other shop plugins; our preferred choice is SureCart. It free and offers many free extras that you’d need to pay for when using WooCommerce. Though WooCommerce is set up on the theme, it is still an optional extra.
  • WPCode Lite (free) – we highly recommend this plugin because it’s more flexible than other code snippet plugins; there’s no need to upgrade to pro unless you’re a developer; it offers many free snippets; you can choose where to run it; it won’t publish if the code is wrong so it won’t break your site; PHP is included compared to others where you have to buy their pro; and best of all, the free version can easily be downloaded from your WordPress repository. Once activated, we highly recommend you head over to our Code Snippets section to add the Gutenberg to WooCommerce (PHP) code and any other code you might need.
  • Shortpixel – dog training websites can use a lot of images. To combat a slow website, consider the Shortpixel plugin, which offers cloud-based image optimization (take note that cloud-based is important). When images are uploaded, they’re sent to ShortPixel’s servers for compression and WebP/AVIF conversion, then returned and replaced in your Media Library. This avoids burdening your hosting server that results in slowing down your website and saves you money.
  • SureCart – SureCart is our preferred choice; it’s free and offers many free extras that you’d need to pay for if you were to use WooCommerce. It’s lighter, which means it doesn’t burden your website with tons of code and therefore doesn’t slow down your website.
  • Solid Security Pro – a good hosting company’s protection is sufficient, but if you want to add an extra layer, then Solid Security free version is great, but their pro version offers even greater features and protection.
  • Rank Math – is an SEO plugin with a free version option, which is sufficient for most websites. For you who are interested in more features, their pro version and SureRank are excellent considerations.
