Equipment

  • blender or food processor
  • spatula
  • serving bowls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries - e.g., strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup - adjust to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice or water
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves - plus extra for garnish
  • a pinch of sea salt - optional, to enhance flavor

Instructions

Blend Ingredients:

  • Add the frozen mixed berries, honey or maple syrup, orange juice (or water), fresh mint leaves, and a pinch of salt into the blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides with a spatula.

Adjust Sweetness:

  • Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey or maple syrup.

Serve Immediately or Freeze:

  • For a soft-serve texture, scoop the sorbet into bowls and serve immediately.
  • For a firmer texture, transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for 2-3 hours before serving.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Scoop the sorbet into bowls, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and enjoy!

Notes

Top Tips

  • Use Frozen Berries: Pre-frozen berries work best for a creamy texture. If using fresh berries, freeze them in advance for at least 2-3 hours.
  • Blend in Stages: If the mixture is too thick, add liquid (orange juice or water) one tablespoon at a time to help the blending process.
  • Customizable Flavors: Swap berries for mango, peach, or pineapple for a tropical twist.
  • Make It Vegan: Use maple syrup instead of honey.
